Based on many years of experience, Plan believes that the sustainable development of disadvantaged communities can only be achieved if children's best interests are kept at the heart of everything we do and if children themselves actively participate in the process.

Child centred community development is the term we use to describe how we aim to do our development work. It is a rights based approach to development where we support communities to develop the structures and skills they need to provide a safe and healthy environment in which children are able to realise their full potential.

The right to child protection guarantees to all children irrespective of their caste, class, gender and ethnicity protection from or against any perceived or real danger or risk to their life, their personhood and childhood by the state and civil society. The right to protection restricts the actions of others, primarily adults and older children, to cause any kind of harm, abuse and exploitation. It is about ensuring that no child falls out of the social security and safety net and, those who do, receive necessary care, protection and support of the law and communities.

The VIT Society works with a variety of project partners and community groups in many educational and development related endeavors. Our mission is not only to look at issues concerning access to education, but also to ensure that every child has access to an education that is meaningful. We try and ensure that nutrition and health care needs of the children are met. As our rapport builds with our partners and communities we provide support to make the community impact more tangible by supporting areas of need such as women’s issues, community awareness related issues and more. With these thoughts in mind we have invested our energies in supporting different types of endeavors as described below. Our support in each of these areas not only helps the individual efforts but also guides our work in terms of how we invest our energies as an organization. It helps us realize the problems faced by different communities and the important role played by each type of endeavor.

Thank you for your kindness dear volunteers
